October 4: “There’s nothing in it that we didn’t already know.” Adding, “I trust that the career agents of the F.B.I. have done their work independent of political or partisan considerations. That’s exactly what senators from both sides asked for. Now it’s up to senators to fulfill their constitutional duty and make a judgment. No one is on trial and the Senate is not a courtroom.” (The New York Times)

October 4: Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley: “Judge Kavanaugh should be confirmed on Saturday" (Twitter)

September 7: We have one of the most qualified people ever to be nominated to the Supreme Court, Judge Kavanaugh, on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals for 12 years. An outstanding record of interpreting law the way Congress passes it, not doing what some judges do, try to fill in the blanks and be super legislatures. Secondly, interpreting the Constitution according to the way it was written by the authors of the Constitution and thirdly, showing an outstanding understanding of people that come before him but not using his personal views, but just reading the law, what the law says and the facts of the case and making his judgement based upon that law. Also I should say, he comes with outstanding recommendations from law clerks that he’s had, students he’s taught at Harvard and Yale and they all speak very highly of him being personable, being smart, but most importantly caring about people. He shows caring about people by being a coach for his girls’ basketball teams over a five or six year period of time so far. He’s also worked at congregate meals at his local Catholic church and he’s just a very down to Earth fella. (

August 3: The best way to determine how a nominee would serve as a justice is to examine how he has served as a judge. Kavanaugh has spent the past 12 years on the powerful U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. During that time, he has written more than 300 opinions and joined hundreds more. These opinions offer ample insight into his legal acumen, temperament and judicial approach...For my part, I’m going to focus on conducting the most thorough and transparent confirmation process of any Supreme Court nominee to date. I invite my Democratic colleagues to set aside election-year posturing and join me in this process. (The Washington Post)

July 11: I've been following him on the DC Circuit Court, and he's been pretty much a person that believes in the Constitution as basic law and something to protect the people from their government. (KIOW)

July 9: Judge Kavanaugh is one of the most qualified Supreme Court nominees to come before the Senate. His credentials are well known, and he's served with distinction as a judge on the esteemed D.C. Circuit for more than a decade. He is a superb mainstream candidate worthy of the Senate's consideration. As we have always done when reviewing nominees for lifetime-appointed judgeships, the Senate Judiciary Committee will conduct a fair and comprehensive evaluation of the nominee's background and qualifications followed by hearings where we'll hear directly from the nominee as we fulfill our advice and consent responsibility.
