September 25: And Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, the No. 4 Democratic leader, said she likes the way the Democratic vote count is trending. “I feel good about it,” she said. "Overwhelmingly, people are voting no." Asked whether there are still really a half-dozen undecided senators, she offered her own internal whip count: “Less, maybe.” (Note: We have not yet confirmed the exact date of these comments, but they appear to have taken place on or around 9/25/2018.) (Politico)

July 13: It is the Senate’s constitutional duty to provide advice and consent on Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination on behalf of the people we represent. After reviewing his record, I believe it is in the best interests of the people of Michigan for me to oppose the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh. (senate.gov)

July 10: This Supreme Court vacancy represents a very consequential moment for our country. I have serious concerns about Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s record. Based on his past decisions, I am deeply concerned that he would roll back women’s access to reproductive health care, make it harder for Michigan families to get affordable health coverage, particularly if they have a preexisting condition, and weaken enforcement of our environmental laws, like our clean water laws that protect our Great Lakes. I intend to review his complete record and will evaluate his nomination thoroughly. (senate.gov)
