September 27: The Senate should not move forward on the Kavanaugh nomination. Dr. Ford's strong testimony should be enough to stop any further votes before a complete nonpartisan investigation takes place. (Twitter)

September 6: As a United States Senator, it is my responsibility to thoroughly review lifetime appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court. I take this responsibility to provide advice and consent very seriously. When President Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh, I owed it to my constituents to review his full record. After having done so, I oppose his confirmation. (senate.gov)

July 27: U.S. Sens. Ron Wyden and Maria Cantwell on Friday warned that President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh could roll back protections for people with preexisting conditions...An estimated 130 million have preexisting conditions, from asthma to diabetes to cancer. Before the Affordable Care Act, many would forego care out of fear they would be denied coverage or their insurance company would raise their rates, said Cantwell, a Democrat from Washington. “Emergency rooms were flooded with people who couldn’t pay their medical bills,” Cantwell said. “Even if you have employer-sponsored health care, if this law is struck down, insurers could go back and say your medical history is a reason for you to pay more.” (Portland Business Journal)

July 9: I have grave concerns about this nomination and Judge Kavanaugh’s previous decisions on net neutrality and health care. (senate.gov)
